The party's federal council passed the motion at the weekend's conference in Sydney.
The Labor member for Lingiari, Warren Snowdon, says it shows the Liberal Party has a secret agenda for the Territory to take high level nuclear material, possibly at the proposed waste dump at Muckaty Station.
But CLP Senator Nigel Scullion says there is Federal legislation preventing high level waste being handled at the site.
The Member for Solomon Dave Tollner says waste should be stored at the world's safest possible location.
"If that happens to be in Australia, I think we have an obligation to at least investigate it," he said.
Mr Tollner says Warren Snowdon is trying to distract attention from what he calls Labor's hare-brained plan to reduce emissions by 20 per cent by 2020.
