The Northern Territory's Ranger uranium mine produced an extra 760 tonnes of uranium in 2005 compared to the previous year.

Rio Tinto has released its fourth quarter production results. The mine, which is operated by Energy Resources of Australia (ERA), produced 5,900 tonnes of uranium last year.

In October, ERA announced that the life of the mine would be extended by three years to 2014 because of an increase in reserves.
