The Country Liberal Party (CLP) says it is concerned the Northern Territory Government will allow a uranium processing plant to operate in Darwin Harbour.

The NT Opposition Leader says the mining company Arafura Resources has proposed to build a uranium processing plant in Darwin.

Jodeen Carney says she quizzed Business Minister Kon Vatskalis about it during last night's Estimates meeting, but did not get a clear answer.

Ms Carney wants the Government to rule out Middle Arm as a site.

"Glyde Point was initially established for industrial development, it's appropriate it goes there," she said.

"I'm not sure as we're sitting at the wharf enjoying our fish and chips that we necessarily want to see a processing plant."
