The man who pegged uranium mine deposits under the cover of darkness in the Northern Territory says he will challenge the Supreme Court's decision to nullify his claim.

Norm McCleary told the ABC he was just doing his job at midnight on December 7 when he and six men pegged the Angela and Pamela Uranium deposits, worth tens of millions of dollars.

He says he was not trespassing on the land at the time and will take the case further.

"We will be without a doubt appealing this, as we said we've got half of the area we wanted in the bag as far as I'm concerned, and we're going to be scrapping like mad over the other half and it's the other half that I want," he said.
