A man who staged a midnight raid to peg a claim to uranium deposits worth tens of millions of dollars has lost his case in the Northern Territory Supreme Court.

The bold hopes of Norm McCleary and his group of six men have been dashed by the findings of the Northern Territory Supreme Court.

Justice Trevor Riley ruled that the men were trespassing when they entered the Angela and Pamela uranium deposit sites at midnight on December 7.

The decision nullifies their claim.

It is also a blow for Perth-based mining company Segue Resources who struck a deal with the group to help them with their legal battle.

The court found that an application for another portion of land in Alice Springs should be considered by the Territory mining warden.
