Top End Uranium Commences Airborne Survey At Yambarra NT

ABN Newswire

Top End Uranium Ltd has commenced airborne surveys on its Yambarra project area in the western portion of the Northern Territory.

Airborne Survey

The east-west orientation line survey is currently being flown by GPX Pty Limited over a total of approximately 4,000km at 200m line spacing. Preliminary results from this survey are expected to be available, shortly after completion of the survey (which is subject to prevailing weather conditions).

Yambarra Exploration Potential - Door Creek Anomaly

The Yambarra project area is located within a major tectonic zone that links the Pine Creek Orogen, one of Australia's richest mineral fields, to the Halls Creek Mobile Belt, which is also host to major mineral occurrences.

No exploration, specifically aimed at locating uranium, has been undertaken within the area covered by the current tenements since the 1970's. At this time a significant uranium anomaly known as 'Door Creek' was investigated. A subsequent more recent NTGS regional spaced airborne radiometric survey reveals that the source of this anomaly, which is some 2.5km in length, may be associated with the faulted unconformity between Fitzmaurice Group sediments and the underlying basement metamorphic rocks. This is a geological setting that is consistent with the setting of unconformity type uranium mineralisation elsewhere in the Northern Territory.

The full extent of this anomaly has not been previously tested and hence this remains a priority exploration target.

The Company is currently negotiating land access to five of the thirteen exploration tenements comprising the project area.
