South Australia an option again for nuclear waste dump
Federal Resources Minister Martin Ferguson says he will consider all the scientific data when making his decision on the site for a nuclear waste facility.
The previous Federal Government passed legislation forcing the facility on the Northern Territory.
That decision followed a legal challenge by South Australia after it was found it had the best site for a dump.
As well as past scientific data, Mr Ferguson say he will also consider the yet-to-be released report on sites in the Northern Territory.
"I will be working out what I think is appropriate and one of the issues will be consideration of the report, a process commenced by the previous government and supported by the traditional owners that actually participated in that process some months ago."
