Uranium resource doubles but mine a long way off

A resources analyst says new results from a uranium exploration site in Central Australia probably aren't enough to make a mine economically viable there in the short-term.
Toro Energy has announced a doubling of the estimated uranium resource at Napperby, 200 kilometres north-west of Alice Springs.
The expected grade of the resource has also improved, but Warwick Grigor from B-G-F Equities says the uranium will stay in the ground until commodity prices improve.
"You wouldn't even think about it 'till the uranium price increased significantly.
"It's currently 45-dollars a pound U-S. I think you'd want to see at least 70-dollars a pound before you'd be prepared to commit.
"I think also with that low grade some more tonnage would be useful. A lot will depend on just the kinetics of the metallurgy and that needs more work."
