Uranium project starts drilling near Alice Springs

A company has started drilling for uranium at the controversial Angela Pamela site in the Northern Territory.
The Northern Territory Government awarded a licence last October to the uranium exploration company, Cameco, to explore the region.
Some environment and community groups oppose the project because it's only 25 kilometres south of Alice Springs.
Project manager Stephan Stander says Cameco expects expecting to find uranium by the end of this week.
"So to get down to completing the hole, it would take at least two days. We're expecting to have in excess of 0.1 per cent of U308 over the mineralised zone."
