ERA is set to build an accommodation village to house up to 800 people within its mining lease near Jabiru.
Chief executive Rob Atkinson told the uranium miner's shareholders yesterday the village would be to house workers for its heap-leach extraction and "three deeps'' exploration projects at Ranger mine.
The projects have not received government approval yet, and are still undergoing feasibility studies.
Mr Atkinson said the environmental impact study was being performed on the process. Leaching would involve extractinguranium from ore using acid.
"We believe that the heap leach will contribute 15-20,000 tonnes of additional uranium from the Ranger site,'' he said.
"We expect to be submitting the EIS ... in the next few months.''
He said the village would be built in stages to house the workers needed.
