Chief Minister Paul Henderson has categorically ruled out a uranium processing plant for Darwin Harbour.
Japanese company Inpex plans to dredge a seven-kilometre shipping channel in the harbour as part of its offshore gas processing project.
But Mr Henderson says there are no plans on the table for any further industrial development inside the harbour.
"I can actually absolutely rule out that Arafura Resources, if their project was ever to come to fruition, certainly their processing plant would not be in Middle Arm," he said.
"So let me rule that out categorically."
Mr Henderson says the Government is working on its long-term strategy for further industrial development.
