Energy Resources of Australia (ERA) says it will not develop the Jabiluka uranium project while the Mirrar people oppose it. The same pledge has not been made for the Ranger Deeps exploration project, with ERA planning to extend the mining lease if new ore is found that can be profitably mined. The Ranger operation was flooded during the wet season and ERA intends to spend $A357m to manage water at the site.
